I choose to walk away from poison and anyone who supports poison. ~ Stephanie Cullen
You can walk away from family. It doesn’t mean you stop loving them. However you will never be able to stop feeling shame or be able to respect yourself by allowing someone else to throw their guilt and shame onto you and in the midst of their brokenness being emotionally abusive towards you because of their own guilt, shame and brokenness. This can be a very vicious cycle and can affect many generations. I have chosen to break the cycle. It’s amazing the more emotionally healthy you get the more the broken people in your family unit and even friends don’t want anything to do with you. It can get quite lonely. However, God provides others in your life to replace those people that you have always so desperately needed but they are just to broken to be what you need. ~ Kristen Hinze
Treating people how you wish to be treated doesn’t always work, especially with people who think they should be treated better than how they treat others. ~ Libby Dee
Surround yourself with people who are positive and who look for the good in others. We can’t control what people think of us but we can control how we react to them and when it comes right down to it, that’s all that matters anyway. ~ Peg Glover
