This is a hard lesson I had to learn after trying to forgive the one person that hurt me the most, my mother. I’m disabled and she invited me to her home she got drunk and pulled me out of my wheelchair and tried to beat me like she did when I was a child, but I had my God helping me have the strength to finally stand up for myself and defend myself and not allow her to harm me ever again. I know it says in the Bible children respect your parents but it also says for parents not to provoke your children. She was charged with assault to a disabled person and was put in jail and given 30 days. I do not regret self-defense whatsoever. ~ Tanja Merkle
